Each time I reformat my machine, one of things I like to do is make sure I enable Image Previews within the MyComputer windows explorer view. Each time I want to enable this feature, I can’t seem to remember the process. Here, I’ll document the option you need to change to make sure this feature is enabled as it’s a real time saver when looking through various images though MyComputer.

Step 1. Open windows explorer.

Step2. Click on TOOLS-FOLDER OPTIONS.

Step 3. Be sure to click the option SHOW COMMON TASKS IN FOLDERS.

Step 4. Click on the VIEW tab and click on the APPLY TO ALL FOLDERS button

Sure, I could select VIEW-THUMBNAILS but I find that to be a bit clunky. I prefer this solution as I can view a number of photos in DETAIL view. This preview pane will be displayed if your browsing your computer through MyComputer and NOT windows explorer.
