Matt M To Be On WordPress Weekly

I have confirmed that Matt Mullenweg of WordPress fame will be on Episode 17 of WordPress Weekly on May 23rd 2008 at 9PM EST. Matt will be hanging around for an hour and I have a wide ranging amount of questions for the guy. Here is what I plan on covering with my interview with Ma.tt:

  • WordPress Trademark Usage
  • Status Updates on all projects under the Automattic umbrella
  • The new hire along with the scaling of WordPress
  • The future of WordPress
  • I’ll have Matt explain how the new 2.5 administration design became a reality
  • I’ll ask him how the guy who doesn’t know PHP from their ABC can contribute to the development of WordPress

Those are some of the things I plan on getting Matt to cover, the rest of the time during the show will be dedicated to YOU. That means, call in with your questions and get the answer from the horses mouth so to speak.

This is going to be one hell of an episode and I invite all of you who are using or interested in WordPress to stop by and participate in the show. Oh yeah, tell everyone you know about this episode so that I feel like I’m under a bus load of pressure when I go on the air. Thanks!

    1. Wow Jeff that’s awesome! I’ll be there for sure! I’ll make sure to bring plenty of questions for our buddy Matt

Hoping to make it back to the show this week!

    2. @Brad Thanks Brad. Only thing I’m worried about with this episode is that it will fly by.

    3. I should be able to make this one, so that’s lucky! For starters I want to know how he got the most awesome domain name on the planet - ma.tt

    4. Jeff - It should be a good interview if the usual softball questions are kept to a limit. Very rarely does Mullenweg talk beyond generalities in these interviews.

    5. I’ll ask him how the guy who doesn’t know PHP from their ABC can contribute to the development of WordPress

Well I’ve certainly not held it back :)
I’d like to think that by providing the support I have done that the devs were not only kept aware of issues but also that their time was focussed on development and not the support they provided before I joined the company.
      But thanks for asking :)

    6. Please provide an option for those who do not have access to a phone or who are unable to use one.

    7. @Dr. Mike Wendell If you don’t want to use a phone or your Skype out credits you can also use SIP clients such as ProjectGizmo or X-Lite. For example, when I use X-Lite to dial in, I type in 123@66.212.134.192 and then follow the audio directions. If you want to use X-Lite to call in, check out this tutorial I wrote specifically for X-Lite http://www.jeffro2pt0.com/installing-and-configuring-x-lite

    8. I won’t be able to listen live….family obligation on the 23rd :( ……..be sure to ask Matt about the rumors floating around about WP going to a ‘paid’ model - I’m hoping that they are just rumors with no foundation, but would love to hear that direct from Matt……
