Back at the beginning of April, I asked the following question as part of the Poll, What Do You Think Of WP 2.5?

Out of a total of 57 votes, the results speak for themselves:

Poll Results For April

I’m happy to see that the majority of folks responded with WordPress 2.5 being awesome, but coming up in second place was the notion that the release could of been better. Now that the poll is over with, please let me know what WordPress devs could of done to make WordPress 2.5 a better release.

With that out of the way, it’s time for a new poll question. The question this time around is, Would You Listen To A WordPress Daily Podcast? This is why I ask. I’m thinking of doing a daily show which is anywhere between 3-7 minutes long which features a few headlines of the day dealing with WordPress. I’m thinking a show every Mon-Friday while still doing the full blown WordPress Weekly podcast on Fridays. But before I do a daily show, I’d like to see a show of hands from those even interested in the subject.

Depending on the votes and the situation at the end of May, I’ll either do the show or not. Of course, if you have a comment regarding the potential of WordPress Daily, let me know in the commenting section of this post.

It really depends on the value of the podcast. Is it relevant, informed, and to-the-point? Then I’d enjoy listening to it.

Sounds like an interesting idea Jeff. Of course I don’t know how many of the daily podcasts I’d actually be able to listen to as work is starting to get busy (I’m a roofer) and my free time is starting to get somewhat limited. I’ve also been cutting back on the amount of time I spend helping out in the forums which kinda sucks but hey, gotta pay the bills. ;)

Perhaps twice weekly, but daily is a hard one to call. I don’t see any reason why I wouldn’t listen to it but can you make it interesting in that short a time?

@AustinAustin, the podcast would only contain headlines or newsmakers that deal with WordPress and related Automattic Projects. So it would be very relevant. Of course, if I miss a big story that happens after I already publish the show, you can’t blame me for that one :)

@Len Point taken. But perhaps you could listen to the show in the car as it would make a nice time waster if lets say, you were to drive to the gas station or you were going to spend at least 10 minutes or so in your vehicle.

@Andrew I don’t know Andrew. My only guess would be to potentially try it out and see what becomes of it after a few episodes.

Would you post a written synopsis (not sure if that’s the right word) of what’s in the podcast? Like a list of the headlines/topics? I’m very intrigued and would probably listen, but my days are so busy that sometimes it’s hard to find time to read all the WP-related blog posts that I want to, so I’m not sure if I could fit in listening to a podcast EVERY day but I’d sure listen to the ones for which the headlines grab me! I’d listen to as many as I can, but if I can see from the headlines synopsis that the topics are either ones I’m already familiar with, or way over my head, I might choose to skip those or save them for a time when I’m less busy.

I just set up a new blog with an older theme and WP2.5

Been having some issues with line breaks and image control. And it is a little different under the hood from what I’m used to. Perhaps it is just the theme that is the problem and I’m just barking up the wrong tree.

I really like the new 2.5 features. It was definitely worth the upgrade.
