Test Drive 2.5

UsingWordPress2.5 Demo

Wow, I think that might be the best post title I’ve ever created. At any rate, I wanted to pass along a cool link that will allow you to test drive WordPress 2.5 before it’s public release in March. Chris Johnston has announced the availability of a public WordPress 2.5 demo site.

This site will house the most up to date version of WordPress 2.5 prior to its release

The username is admin and the password is demo.

Don’t be afraid to play around within the administration area as the database is reset every 60 minutes.

The other way of seeing WordPress 2.5 is by manually installing an SVN or Subversion installation of WordPress which requires time, and effort. This makes it painless for end users. Be sure to check in from time to time each week to see the progress. Here are a few things you should take a look at within this demo:

  • Dashboard
  • Media Uploader
  • Write Dialog Screen
  • Manager
  • Overall Design
  • The New Widget Interface
  • The new way of adding and deleting tag

After toying around in the demo, please let me know what your opinions are concerning WordPress 2.5 at it’s current stage of development.

  2. Sorry! i`ve changed the url for http://wp.chrisjohnston.org/. I was curios if it does work! And it worked!

    My Appologies for that!

  3. I cant login in the admin area, i se the message: “the password is incorrect” whats wrong?

  4. Umm, the website redirects. Wassup?

  5. Why does it forward to some web design company?

  6. @Mark Because the demo is not exactly secure. People are going into the admin area and changing the home url to their own domain so it redirects. It’s a very jerkish thing to do and we’re hoping Chris hard codes those settings into the config.php file.

  7. @Jeffro i said that i`m sorry! I didn`t thought from the first time that it will work. Chris should have think about it, when he said that we can do what ever you want!
