IconSetDescription

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have updated the icon set in the top right hand corner of the site. The navigational area now includes two new icons. The I or information icon links to an About Jeffro2pt0 page that I have put together which gives you a bit of background history of the site. I’ve also included information about me because after all, I’m a human being, not a bot.

I’ve also included a dedicated page for WordPress Weekly. This is represented by the Ipod icon. Keep in mind, you don’t need an actual Ipod to listen to the podcast. I used the icon because it was the closest thing to a Podcast that I could find within the icon pack. This page will house all of the detailed information regarding how to participate, what the show is about, and how to listen/subscribe to the show.

As a side note, I have also installed WP-Cache over the weekend. Let me know if this has helped to decrease the loading time of the site.

At any rate, this was just a FYI for those out their that visit the actual website, not the feed.

Hmm, maybe it’s just me, but the two new buttons seem to just loop me back to the front page.

Same here John.

Jeffro, have you tried out WP SuperCache? It might just be me, but I noticed a huge difference in my loading times after using super cache, compared to when I used WP-Cache. That might just be me, though.

@John Kolbert That is weird, it appears to be correctly linked on my end. What browser are you using?

@Chris Thomson I tried, tried, and even re tried to get WP-Super-Cache to work and it simply doesn’t want to cache anything at all. I’ve opened up support threads and other people are experiencing the same issues and although some folks have resolved their problems, mine is still unresolved.

Jeffro, I tried FireFox and Opera and get the same result.. Maybe if you link to the page slug rather then the “?page_id=” that would help?

@John Kolbert Ok John, I’ve done as you suggested and gave the pages a page slug and then linked to the page slug. Let me know if that fixed the problem.

Jeffro, I tried the links again. The about image takes me to your sites custom 404 message, and the ipod takes me to WordPress Weekly Episode 1. Hmm, I wonder if Christ is still getting the same issues.

@John Kolbert As it turns out, I discovered that I had merely Saved the page and it appeared as though the page was public but in fact, the page was saved as a draft and I never pressed the publish button.

Both pages are now published and available for consumption.
