Vipers QuickTags 5.4 Released

Viper has released a new version of his popular video embedding plugin called Viper’s Video Quicktags. The plugin is now at version 5.4.0 and is officially compatible with WordPress 2.5. Here is the changelog which highlights whats new in this version:

• Updated to support WordPress 2.5 and it’s TinyMCE 3 (required a whole new TinyMCE plugin to be written).
• Switched from UFO to SWFObject for the embedding of Flash video (YouTube, etc.) since UFO is deprecated.
• Update of FLV player SWF file.
• Removed Stage6 due to site shutdown. BBCode usage now displays an error message.

There is a reason why this plugin is always mentioned when the topic of embedding videos into a post is brought up. This plugin has tags to embed videos from YouTube, Google Video, IFILM, Metacafe, MySpace, Vimeo, QuickTime, Generic Video Files and Flash Video Files. Pretty much the entire gamut of embeddable video content.

Definitely an awesome plugin worth using if you’re tired of the visual editor screwing up your embed code thus rendering your video useless.
