Is that really WordPress? is always a fun game to play
So many people have no idea what the platform is capable of.
Comment by Jeffro on 6 June 2008
@Ryan - Yeah, I did a similar post but I have to say, I like WP Projects post better than mine.

Hi Jeff, been enjoying your show for awhile now. I was about to suggest that you list the Guests and their Sites for each episode… lo and behold, ya done it… at least here with Ep.19.
But on Ep18, Patty Mayo’s audio was so poor, we couldn’t hear her website clearly.
So, I hope you continue to list the Guests and their respective websites.
I gotta say, tho, the overall audio quality of all the guests is poor… is that TalkShoe or Skipe or what?
I’m hoping to join you and listen live to the show tomorrow, Fri 10pm est.
Thanks!

@Brian M - Hey Brian, thanks for stopping by and for the wonderful comments. I can only control my audio quality. The others who call in I can’t control. Some of them use skype out, others use a cell phone while still others use mics built into their macbook pros. I call in using a SIP Client and I use a standard headset and boom microphone which seems to work well.
For each episode that I do a roundtable discussion, I link to the guests involved and links to the stories that are covered. For anything else, I typically just highlight the guest on the show with a link to their site.

Dear Jeffro,
Thank you for mentioning OSLiving on your show.
It’s always a pleasure when someone picks up our site. It makes all the hard work feel worthwhile.
I like your talk shows, particularly the easy ‘jump in jump out’ system for guest speakers. The technology powering the live discussions still feels somewhat awkard but the fact that people are using it and engaging with your material is a very positive sign. I’ve bookmarked your site and will tune into future broadcasts when I find time.
Best wishes,
Andrew.

@Andrew Eglinton - Andrew, thank you very much for taking the time out to leave a comment. Everyone on the show appeared to agree on the sleek and nice and simple look of OS Living. I think you guys did a good job with the site. Yes, the Talkshoe service/software is at times awkward and because there are many variables outside of my control, sometimes the audio doesn’t come across too well. Hopefully, this won’t be an issue in future shows.

Hi Jeffro,
consuming my dose of WordPress Weekly I was sad to hear you discussing duplicate content - obviously without really knowing what duplicate content is - no offence here, but I think it is important that you have the correct information on duplicate content on the show.
Duplicate content is not: many link pointings to the same piece of text.
Duplicate content is: full text versions of the same blog post on many different URLs. That typically happens if you fail to use the_exerpt in your archive and category pages. That was the case with most WP-themes a couple of years ago - but standards have moved towards only using ful text on the single post pages.
That being said - there could be a duplicate content issue on tag archive pages if you for example ttagged 10 blog posts with the exact same 5 tags. Then you would have 5 identical tag archive pages - and thus risk having those seen as duplicate content.
There are a lot of great articles on WordPress and duplicate content just a google search away - otherwise please see these two great articles:The Illustrated Guide to Duplicate Content in the Search Engines by SEOmoz.
and WordPress, Duplicate Content, and Wrong SEO Plugins by Ozh.

@Paul - Thanks Paul for the clarification. I’ll be sure to mention this on the next episode to clear up any confusion
