WPDesigner Up For Sale

Unfortunately, WPDesigner.com looks like it has gone up for sale. The current bidding price is $15,000.00 while the buy it now price is $65,000.00. According to Small Potatoes, the reasons behind the domain sell off include various personal reasons:

the first and main reason is I’ll be traveling abroad for the rest of this year. Initially, I was hoping I could juggle traveling, maintaining this blog, and continue creating WordPress themes, but that’s more than likely not the case.

Second reason is I’m at a crossroad in life. In the last two months, I changed my love and family lives. Now, it’s time to make career choices; I don’t have to, but I want to make a change

According to the listing on SitePoint, the Wpdesigner.com domain has a Page Rank of 7, 70,000 unique visitors a month, monthly revenue of $890.0, 896,000 page views per month and an alexa ranking of 13,514. Not only that, but over the months and years, Wpdesigner has become one of those staple folds within the WordPress themeing community.

For those that are concerned about the theme club, Small Potatoes has said that it will be up to the new owners/developers to keep the theme club going. If that doesn’t happen, he will refund all of the club members their $5.00.

I wanted to thank SP for allowing me to have at least one guest blog post on his domain. After my post went live on his site, I received quite a bit of contacts in the form of emails from various people. I’m just as disappointed as the next guy to see WPDesigner exchange hands but considering the reasons involved, I believe you gotta do what you gotta do and I wish Small Potatoes the best of luck with this purchase and his future endeavors.

Lets hope the new owners have the same dedication and passion for WordPress that SP did.
